CRASH OF A P-40E KITTYHAWK
AT ARCHERFIELD, QLD
ON AN UNKNOWN DATE POSSIBLY IN 1942

On an unknown date in 1942, USAAF P-40E Kittyhawk, Serial No. #41-5310, piloted by E.D. Ball, ran into a gun mount at Archerfield airfield in Brisbane, Queensland. The pilots attention was distracted by other aircraft landing at that point in time. The aircraft's propellor was damaged. The aircraft was relocated to Geelong after the accident.
