AT AMBERLEY AIRFIELD, QLD
ON 26 JANUARY 1942

On 26 January 1942, a USAAF Douglas A-24-DE Dauntless, #41-15772, piloted by 1st Lieutenant Glasbure and 1st Lieutenant Adkins was damaged at Amberley airfield in Queensland. It would appear that they raised the undercarriage instead of the flaps. The aircraft suffered damage to the undercarriage, airscrew, aileron, and part of the main plane and flaps.
