Kittyhawk A29-13 of 75 Squadron RAAF
P-40E Kittyhawk A29-13 of 75 Squadron RAAF was involved in a landing accident at Garbutt Airfield, Townsville on 18 March 1942. The pilot, Sgt David Stuart Brown was not injured in this accident. The aircraft was badly damaged.
Sgt Brown was subsequently killed in another accident on 26 May 1942 and was buried in Rabaul.
The aircraft was sent to 5 AD for repairs after this crash. This same aircraft was written off in another crash about 4 miles west of Marburg on 12 July 1942, killing the pilot.
