CRASH OF A C-47A DAKOTA
TOWNSVILLE, QLD

A C-47A Dakota of the 33rd Troop Carrier Squadron, 374th Troop Carrier Group crashed at Townsville, in north Queensland on 8 January 1943 when the pilot retracted the landing gear too soon. The aircraft was subsequently repaired.
