CRASH LANDING OF A DOUGLAS A-24
DAUNTLESS
AT CHARTERS TOWERS, QLD ON 8 JUNE 1942
Douglas A-24 Dauntless
Douglas A-24 Dauntless dive bomber #41-15821 of the 8th Bomb Squadron, 3rd Bomb Group based at Charters Towers made a wheels up landing at Charters Towers on 8 June 1942.
This aircraft had later been involved in a forced landing on a mud flat near Garbutt airfield on 22 November 1943.
