On 1 December 1943, two USAAF C-47A Dakotas of the 21st Troop Carrier Squadron of the 374th Troop Carrier Group, were damaged at Townsville when they struck each other. One C-47A was able to be salvaged while the other was rebuilt.
NOTE:- Mike Stowe (Accident-Report.Com) has a C-47A Dakota #43-30752, crashing on 1 December 1943 at Townsville. Could it be one of the above two Dakotas involved in this collision ? Another C-47A Dakota had a landing accident at Townsville on that same day. Could it be that aircraft?
Can anyone help me with more information on this crash?
