CRASH OF B-25 MITCHELL
AT BATCHELOR AIRFIELD
ON 18 OCTOBER 1943
B-25 Mitchell, N5-145, #41-12798 "The Flying Dutchman" from 18 Squadron of the Netherlands East Indies Air Force (NEI-AF/ KNIL) was damaged on 18 October 1943 after running off the runway in a downwind landing at Batchelor airfield in the Northern Territory.
N5-145 was received by "B" Flight of 18 Squadron on 17 September 1942. It was converted to a Strafer in May 1943. It was finally dismantled on 21 February 1944.
