CRASH OF A WIRRAWAY
INTO LAKE VICTORIA, NSW
ON 23 JUNE 1942

On 23 June 1942, RAAF Wirraway A20-506 from No. 2 Operational Training Unit based at Mildura, VIC, crashed into Lake Victoria in New South Wales while plotting a gunnery range. The following crew were both killed:-

Sgt. Ruge A.R. (405424)    24 yrs old
LAC Moore G.H. (15508)    33 yrs old
