JAPANESE "OSCAR" AIRCRAFT
REBUILT AT EAGLE FARM
IN HANGAR NO. 7, BY ATIU
Photographs from Samuel Hepford
From early in 1943, the Air Technical Intelligence Unit (ATIU) started operations in a small timber hangar (Hangar No. 7) at Eagle Farm. ATIU recovered a damaged Japanese "Oscar" from New Guinea, and brought it back to Hangar No. 7 at Eagle Farm to rebuild.
The following photographs were supplied to me by Samuel Hepford, son of Samuel Hepford, who assisted to rebuild the Japanese "Oscar" aircraft at Eagle Farm in Hangar No. 7.
