There are many rumours about Japanese activities in and around Australia during WW2. Probably only a small proportion of the stories are true.
One story that I was told was that there had been a Japanese Submarine Base near Nowra in New South Wales during WW2. Sounds a bit too far fetched for my liking. Another one of those many urban myths!!
