Hello.

My name is Geoffrey Sullivan. I am the son of AR Sullivan. My father was awarded a DFC during his tour with 460 Squadron. He died in Feb 1996.

I had been encouraging him to write down some recollections or anecdotes regarding his experiences, for many years. However, as is often the case with veterans, he was reluctant to do so. However, he finally put together an account of the raid in which he was the pilot and for which he was awarded his DFC. He called his story "Another Bloody Op".I presented the final copy to him after editing and typing, for Father's Day 1995.

In October that year he was diagnosed as having a tumour in the bladder. He had an opertion but finally sucumbed the following February.

I also have his Flight Log and a few other items.

I would be happy to send you a copy of his booklet

Regards,

Geff Sullivan

Hello Peter,

Sorry for the delay in replying but I have been up in Queensland for a couple of weeks and have only just checked messages.

I do not have an electronic copy of Dad's story but will post hard copy to you.

The weather down here is pretty cool. Could you please e-mail some sunshine but hold on the rain!

I need a postal address to send the story.

Stay in touch

Regards,
Geoff Sullivan

Thanks Peter, I received your message and sunshine-very cute. It is actually sunnier than when we were up there ourselves!

I will post a copy of 'F for Freddie' within the next couple of days.

Queensland certainly looks attractive as a place to move to. I am checking out some possibilities at the moment. We are expanding some interests up there so I'm tempted to make the break with the south.

What about you? Have you always been up north or are you an immigrant as well?

I'd like to hear some more of how you came to set up the information on 460 and what sort of response you get. Do you have a background in History or research or did your interest just evolve?

Come to think of it, I'd better be careful what I ask you or you may just send it!

Catch you soon,

Geoff Sullivan
