WRECKAGE OF A P-39 AIRACOBRA
LOCATED ON CAPE GRENVILLE
On an unknown date, the wreckage of a USAAF P-39 Airacobra was located on Cape Grenville below the high water mark. The wreckage was exposed at low tide.
It is not clear whether this could be one of the many Airacobras which forced landed on either 26 April 1942 (9 lost) or 1 May 1942 (six lost).
