29TH INFANTRY BRIGADE
IN AUSTRALIA DURING WWII
The 47th Battalion moved from the Mount Louisa area in Townsville to a new camp area at Black River in about August 1942.
At 2100 hours on 30 August 1942, the 29th Infantry Brigade advised the 15th Battalion that the Observation Post on Castle Hill was handed over to the 47th Battalion at 1800 hours.
Parts of the 47th Battalion relocated to Thornton's Gap (Map Reference 785576) on about 26 November 1942.
