MOUNT SURPRISE AIRFIELD, QLD
WAS IT USED DURING WWII
![]()
Alan Long told me that while driving around the back roads of Mt Surprise in north Queensland he came across a large air strip, too large to belong to one of the local properties. He wondered if it was left over from WW2.
Alan said that the area was still well cleared but the only structures left are some rock works and a sock post.
