CRASH OF A LOCKHEED VENTURA
ON COASTLINE OFF CANBERRA, ACT
ON 10 NOVEMBER 1943

On 10 November 1943, RAAF Lockheed Ventura, A59-52, ex Bu. 33444, c/n 5453, suffered minor damage when it struck a tree on the coastline off Canberra, ACT during a bombing exercise over the sea.

This aircaft was originally received into the RAAF on 19 July 1943 at 2AD. It was received into 13 Squadron RAAF on 15 August 1943. It was sent to D.A.P. for disposal from 2AD on 24 June 1948. Dispoasl action was completed on 6 September 1949.
