LOSS OF A B-25 MITCHELL BOMBER

A USAAF B-25 Mitchell bomber failed to return to Townsville on a flight from Port Moresby.  Last contact was made with the aircraft 25 miles from Townsville.

 

NOTE:- This could be the same event as the following two incidents:-

B-25 crashed near Herbert River on 15 Sep 1942

B-25 Failed to arrived in Townsville on 15 Sep 1942
