RAAF Hudson, A16-143 (see Note) left Townsville on 19 January 1942 on a flight to Rabaul. It disappeared without trace. Post war searches in New Britain by an RAAF seach party failed to find anything.

NOTE:- Peter Nielsen's book "Diary of WWII - North Queensland" indicates that this aircraft was A16-145.
