100 Squadron RAAF was formed at Richmond air base on 25 February 1942. The squadron moved to Mareeba on 22 May 1942 and then to Laverton on 2 July 1942.
100 Squadron were relocated to the Bohle airfield on 22 September 1942 prior to moving to Gurney Field, Milne Bay in New Guinea in September 1942.
